Born Ricky Lee Smith,
June 23rd, 1955, the bassist and founding member of Fate 55, started his music
career at age 12 by playing live music in his first band "The Third Phase".
Influenced by the radio and the Motown bass playing of James Jameson and
countless others, the Bass was the instrument of choice. For over 27 years,
Ricky Lee has been making people dance with his big bottom groove oriented bass
playing. For the past 14 years since forming Fate 55
in the summer of 1990, Ricky Lee has been the bass behind Fate 55.
Ricky Lee currently plays a Dean 6 String Bass
through a SWR MoBass Amp into a Smith Craft Cabinet when performing live.
Ricky Lee has been a band member and/or has worked
with the following acts:
Third Phase, Critical Mass, White Hot, Freeway,
Double Shot, Kix, Tour de Force, Who Knows, Shaky Dates, The Tools, Danny
Peabody, Micky Shannon and Runaway, Johnny Picket, Actual Size, Black Oak
Arkansas, Steppenwolf, QuaterFlash and Elvin Bishop.
